Tips to Remove Coffee Stain from Carpet

Carpet flooring is a popular choice for the home where people seek extra warmth and comfort underfoot. It often gets dirty due to people wearing their shoes in the house, spilling drinks, dropping food, etc. Therefore you have to clean the carpet regularly.

Many of us rely on an early morning coffee or tea as an essential part of our daily routine, to help wake up and set us up for the day. But what to do, if in our hurry, coffee spills on the floor? You therefore need to remove coffee stains as early as possible. Depending on what is available to you at that particular time, use one of the following remedies to remove coffee stain from carpet:

  • Pour the amount of dish soap over the coffee stain. Add some water over it to form the foam. Using cleaning sponge, scrub the soap and water along with the coffee stain. Use a towel to wipe away all the soapy solution from the carpet. Allow the carpet to air-dry. This is the simplest method of removing tea or coffee stain from the carpet.

  • Grab some paper towels and blot up as much of the coffee as possible. Sprinkle baking soda over the coffee stain. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Make a solution with equal amounts of water and vinegar. Pour the liquid over the baking soda. Rub towel over the stain until it completely disappears. Allow the carpet to air-dry or using vacuum cleaner. It will completely remove coffee stains from carpet.

  • Pour on club soda and blot. Continuous adding more club soda and more blotting. If the stain isn’t fading fast, pour on a bit of 3% hydrogen peroxide and let it stay on for about 15 minutes. Then blot and rinse with either more club soda or some cold water.
  • Combine two spoons of baking soda and one spoon of borax powder in water. Apply this solution on the coffee stain. Then allow the carpet to air dry.

These are the simple methods to remove coffee stain from carpet. No matter which method you use to remove tea or coffee stain, the faster you clean it up, the better.
