Generally, the doors are classified according to their function, working operation and materials of the manufacturer. There are different types of doors are available in the market like flush doors, sliding doors, louvered doors, rolling doors, revolving doors, etc.

Louvered doors are used when privacy with natural ventilation and quietness for rest is desired, as they allow free passage of air even when closed. You can use louvered doors to help ventilate certain areas of your home, to add a small amount of privacy to otherwise open space, or as room dividers.

Louvered doors are not much preferred because of dust. They are used for latrines and bathrooms of public buildings and residential buildings. These doors are used in cabinets, wardrobe, bathroom, utility rooms, etc.

Louvered shutters are provided with louver in series, either fully or partly.  The Louver is arranged at such an inclination that horizontal vision is obstructed. In other words, louver is arranged such that upper back edge of any louver will be higher than the lower front edge of the louver just above it.

Louver design in indoors gives some elegance in terms of look and style. The Louver is made of glass, timber or plywood. Proper louver design permits air flow for good ventilation.

Louver may be either fixed or movable. The louvers are either made movable by connecting them to the pivot by means of hinges or are fixed into the stile. In the case of movable type, the upward or downward movement of lover is carried out by lowering and raising the pivot respectively. These doors are difficult to clean and hence not advisable in an area prone to dust and smoke. It also requires very good workmanship as the badly done door will give a bad look and will create problems of operation of louver.

In the case of louvered doors, once you open the louver you can’t prevent mosquitoes, insects from entering. It may also not be useful in reducing sound nuisance inside the room.
