Here we have analysed and reviewed the design of 3 BHK bungalow admeasuring 108.00 sqm. Good features have been shown as recommended and undesirable features have been shown as “Not Recommended”.

The road on which the house abuts and North have also been shown in the sketch.



R1       Windows in opposite direction provides cross ventilation and hence recommended.

R2       Good use of space below staircase as toilet on Ground floor. Such compact planning is desirable for small house.

R3       Balcony proportions (i.e. provides LxB) more efficient seat out place for user.

R4       Good distance between Sofa and T.V. Again T.V. on dead wall is good.

R5       Well laid out kitchen, where ‘L’ shaped platform accommodates sink, store etc. also defined space for freeze.

R6       Cupboard along internal wall is always preferred. Cupboard on exterior wall are not desirable as they may get damaged due to moisture / dampness in wall. The plywood will get damaged due to moisture.

R7       Right layout of toilet for dry and wet space point of view.

R8       Well laid out family lounge on first floor provides good family sitting providing independent entry to all rooms.

R9       GF Bed room is in wind direction.

Not Recommended :

NR1    Bed room door opens just opposite to door of Living room and hence is not recommended as privacy is lost.

NR2    Storage Area corners are not utilized efficiently hence such small rooms not recommended.

NR3    Size of wash Area is not adequate particularly 0.75 width is not sufficient.

NR4    Wash Basin Location outside toilet recommended.

NR5    Wardrobe on exterior wall shall be avoided to protect cupboards when made from plywood from dampness and pests.

NR6    Window needed along with balcony door. It will improve light & ventilation of Bedroom and will also provide cross ventilation.

NR7    Shower and other fixtures in toilet are on opposite walls which will create improper plumbing layout hence not recommended. If all pipes are in one wall, it will have ease of working and save cost.

NR8    In all Bed room, beds have been placed along shorter side of room, leaving not enough space for movement. If placed on longer side more space would have been felt.

NR9    Both First Floor Bed room are not in wind direction.
